Milwaukee Bucks news: Oshkosh, Wisconsin is in serious danger of losing their NBA G League team, the Wisconsin Herd. This is after reports have emerged that the Bucks’ G League affiliate team is currently embroiled in a serious contract dispute with Fox Valley Pro Basketball Inc., which is the owner of the team’s home court, the Oshkosh Arena.

This is far from a simple misunderstanding too, with allegations now popping up about a significant breach in contract.

Milwaukee Bucks News: Wisconsin Herd Looking to Leave Oshkosh

According to a report by Justin Marville of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Herd seriously want to cut ties with their arena lessor:

“Oshkosh could be in danger of losing the Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA G League team, as an inside source revealed the Herd ‘no longer wants to work‘ with Oshkosh Arena owner Fox Valley Pro Basketball Inc. after claiming it’s in violation of its current lease.

“It’s not exactly certain how Fox Valley Pro Basketball Inc. is suspected to be in breach of the lease agreement, which runs to 2026, but the source explained the Herd has opt-out provisions that could release the team from that lease,” Marville wrote.

Marville also reports that this dispute comes just two months after the Oshkosh Arena was placed for sale. The owners have also filed for bankruptcy and are currently facing litigation charges.

While it is unclear if these financial troubles are related to the Herd’s desire to jump ship, it’s hard not to see the connection between these two significant events.

As for the Bucks, you can be sure that they will want to keep their affiliate team within close proximity of Milwaukee. After all, it is common practice for them to send down and bring up players from the Herd throughout the NBA season, which will obviously be a problem if the Herd suddenly moves out of the state of Wisconsin.
